Hackathon@SG 2015 (25-26 July 2015) was Singapore’s biggest ever hackathon! It was jointly organised by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and IT Standards Committee, and supported by the Ministry of Finance, Science Centre and SPRING Singapore.
Hackathon@SG 2015 was the first of its kind – bringing together over 1,100 hackers of all ages, mentors and judges to build for a Smart Nation. To help participants prepare for the hackathon weekend, over 20 different technology and thematic workshops were organised over the month of July 2015.
The participants had access to the latest technologies including Internet of Things, Virtual Reality, Cloud Computing and Open Data. Hardware kits such as Nabu X, Tweeq, Google Cardboard and VR One were also made available to hackathon participants. Hackathon@SG was co-located with MIT Hacking Medicine@SG 2015, where 26 teams tackled the theme of “Ageing-in-Place”.
In addition, during the weekend of 11-12 July 2015, 47 overseas Singaporeans and their friends and colleagues got together for a Hackathon@SG satellite hackathon in San Francisco.
